PROVERBS 12:19 – The lip of truth shall be established for ever ; but a lying tongue is , but for a moment (The words we speak can determine how long or short our relationships with others will last)
PROVERBS 15:4 – A wholesome tongue is a tree of life ; but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. ( Wholesome talk or words helps us to grow our relationships, perverse insensitive talk, stifles and ultimately destroys great relationships)
PROVERBS 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. ( Whether your marriage survives the storms of life or doesn’t is predominantly determined by how well the two of you communicate)
The husband and wife must overcome any obstacles to good communication if they are to walk together and experience a peaceful and harmonious marriage.
An atmosphere of openness and honesty is vital for the success of your marriage.
God gave us one mouth and two ears to listen more and talk less. Listening is a key ingredient to successful communication and ultimately successful marriage.

Failure to have quality time with God and then your Spouse
Communicating while you are full of bitterness and hurt
Truth without love ; being judgmental and critical about your spouse
Communicating through the lenses of past experiences; rejection , hurts , abuse experienced as a child or in previous relationships
Selfishness and self-centeredness : I and my world
