Divine Connection Through Dreams

He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.”—PSALM 127:2

God performs extraordinary acts through dreams, as illustrated throughout the Bible. King Solomon received the gift of wisdom in a dream (1 Kings 3:5-15), and God established a covenant with Abraham through another (Genesis 15:12-21). He also warned Pharaoh of a coming famine (Genesis 41:1-37) and gave Jacob a business strategy (Genesis 31:11-13). Moreover, Israel found guidance to go to Egypt, and Gideon was inspired to go to war via dreams (Genesis 46:1-7; Judges 7:9-18).
Dreams are equally notable in the New Testament. Joseph, Mary’s husband, received angelic messages through dreams that significantly influenced his life (Matthew 1:20-24; 2:13-14, 19-21, 22-23). According to 1 Corinthians 10:11, these scriptural examples should guide our lives.
Reflecting on these precedents, we might wonder how many blessings we miss by overlooking divine dreams. Clearly, dreams are a crucial spiritual connection and a bridge to the kingdom of Heaven. Across the Bible, dreams and visions occupy about one-third of its content, the equivalent of the entire New Testament, underscoring their importance as a consistent divine communication method.
God frequently speaks through dreams, imparting divine revelations that can lead to remarkable success. Unfortunately, we often disregard our dreams because they seem confusing. This confusion arises from not understanding God’s dream language.
God desires constant communication with us, both awake and asleep, as emphasized in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, which calls for ceaseless prayer. Understanding and valuing our dreams is part of maintaining an ongoing connection with Him, thereby embracing a fuller, divinely-guided life.

Dreams: A Contentious Issue

Everyone has  an opinion about the meaning and significance of dreams. They are those who highly regard them, on the other hand, they are those who don’t give them a second thought.Today they are hardly any sermons or teachings on the subject of dreams in the Christian Church. This may fact may lead believers to think that dreams and their interpretations are irrelevant to their Christian faith. Before You make any conclusions it is important to find out what the Bible says about Dreams.

On the day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter paralleled the occurrence with Joel’s prophecy in the Old Testament.

“Acts 2:14-18
[14]But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15]For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
[16]But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
[17]And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
[18]And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”

Peter was declaring a new dispensation characterised by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and referred to as the ‘last days’. He went on to stipulate the results of this outpouring of the Holy Spirit and mentioned; Dreams; Visions; Prophecy will be the ‘norm’.

God has gradually revealed Himself to Humanity over the ages and each season significantly build on the previous revelation as humanity approaches eternity and this current world gives way to a new world and a new heaven.

Revelation 21:1
[1]And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

God in the Old Testament reveals himself to the Jewish Nation as the all powerful and Perfect Creator. In the New Testament he reveals to man his unsurmountable Love, Care,Grace, Compassion, for the human being and his readiness to save and carry  humanity’s sin burden through the Person of Jesus Christ.
In this final depensation referred to by Prophet Joel and Apostle Peter as ‘the last days’, God is revealing himself in the Person of the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately a large portion of the Christian Church is either not aware or conveniently ignores the ‘move’ of the Holy Spirit. This Christians are unable to personally relate with the Holy Spirit or as a choice refused to acknowledge his presence in their lives.

Interestingly many believers don’t have a problem believing what great actions and miracles God did in the lives of the prophets and Servants of God, of ‘yesteryears’. Most likely they also don’t have an issue believing what God will do in the future for them, the church or the world. Remarkably, we battle with our faith for today. Notwithstanding the Bible highlights that a key element for faith is that it occurs in the ‘now’.

Hebrews 11:1
[1]Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

(Notice the description of faith begins with the word ‘now’) . That implies ‘faith now’ should be an very day experience .Romans 1:17
[17]For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. A believers lifestyle should be that faith. The element of faith is not just an ‘abstract’ concept as secular reasoning would have us believe. The writer of the book of Hebrews states categorically that faith is a ‘substance’ and a ‘evidence’. Hence it can’t just be imagined or artificially manufactured from the ‘air’. Since faith is a substance and there must be evidence of this ‘substance’ that makes or builds this faith. Evidently there must be a place or a source to obtain the substance that makes up faith. The Scriptures point to where the believer can find this ‘faith building substance ‘
“Romans 10:17
[17]So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Faith comes from the word of God, which comes in different forms. The written word which is the key and primary source ; other secondary sources include, spoken Prophetic word, Preaching , teaching in the Church; Dreams and Visions. Nevertheless the Secondary sources of the word must always be in agreement with the primary source of the Word.

Humanity loves it independence and naturally resists dependence on anything else. We love to be “our own man”. Sadly for humanity, faith means depending on ‘ God’s word ‘. That means being sensitive to His voice and understanding his preferred modes of communication.
Adrian Peale writes [As Christians we are prone to ‘throw the baby out with the bathwater’ because we see the New Age movement and psychoanalysis embrace dream interpretation for guidance.]

All the same we need not be overly concerned about this non Christian groups embracing dream interpretation. Firstly considering that God is the originator of communication through dreams and the bible is actually a ‘book of dreams ‘ , permeated with dreams from Genesis to Revelation. Beside the fact that without the Holy Spirit who is the author of the dreams Acts 2:17
[17]And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:,] the Non Christian Groups are greatly limited in their ability to correctly interpret dreams correctly. Besides the Holy Spirit being the author, he is also the Interpreter [ Genesis 40:8
[8]And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.]

Consequently, the Church of Jesus Christ has ‘an upper hand ‘. When it comes to dream interpretation. Regrettably, we have allowed, new ager’s , diviners, sorcerers, witches, wizards, magicians, enchanters, conjurers, necromancers and other occultist to enjoy a ‘fields’ day, ignorantly giving them relevance, at the expense of Christianity.

The church needs to stop limiting God and metaphorically “putting him in a box”. He is a Sovereign God and he is still speaking to his people through his written inspired word and can also use extra scriptural means to communicate with his people; while maintaining his eternal biblical principals through this additional modes of communication.

[Numbers 12:6-8
[6]And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
[7]My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
[8]With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?]

Adrian Peale explains the word ‘dark sayings’ translated in Hebrew ‘Chidah’ in the above scriptures refers to a puzzle, riddle, parable.

God likes to communicate through ‘dark sayings’ – parables; puzzles; riddles . It is fascinating that dreams occur in similar structures.

[Hosea 12:10
[10]I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.]

Over forty parables are attributed to Jesus Christ in the Gospels revealing is favourite means of communication. God still ministers to us in our dreams through dreams today.

Having served as a pastor for over two decades I am usually puzzled by how believers quickly and readily point their dreams to demonic and satanic forces especially if they are scary. On the other hand they generally find it difficult identify their dreams to God trying to speak into their life’s circumstances.

We need spiritual sensitivity to get the Holy Spirit’s direction for our lives. One of the ways he uses is dreams and visions

Biblical evidence reveal that both Christians and non believers can receive dreams from God. However Godly Visions are exclusively for Christian believers. Notwithstanding non believers can receive both dreams and visions from occultic sources.

In order to interpret dreams and visions appropriately you need a compact and sound knowledge of the Bible.

Doubtlessly they are unseen forces bent on making sure the Church of Jesus Christ does not use this powerful tool of; Dreams and their interpretations , knowing it’s full potential in the body of Christ. The said powers have tried to curtail, defile, slander the place of dreams and visions in the Believers life. We should not give up . Each Believer personally should ‘ soilder on’, expecting God to communicate ‘timely , relevant words ‘ through their dreams.

[Galatians 5:17
[17]For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.]

Adrian Peale concludes [” God has used dreams and visions for more than 4000yrs as a means of guidance, so why should He stop now when he said that he would do it more?”]

Take into account if key biblical personality ignored dreams given to them; we not have Isaac; Israel; Solomon Kingdom; Jesus. Take your Dreams Seriously they have the ability to change history.

The Spiritual Language of Dreams

The Spiritual Language of Dreams

ACTS 2:17

“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.’”

It is Crucial to understand the significance of being attentive to the visions we acquire in the course of the day. This are pictures that cross our mind during the day. We sometimes refer to this phenomenon as day dreaming.Rational thought and cognitive learning has taught us that these spontaneous pictures crossing our minds are insignificant. In contrast to that school of thought, biblical evidence reveals that these visions provide us a glimpse into the spirit realm,
inspiring us to write them down, and seek to understand the spiritual meaning of the visions received, and apply their insights to our lives. Amazingly, the Bible often uses the words dream and vision interchangeably.

A good example is in the book of Job: “In a dream, a vision of the night, when sound sleep falls on men…” (Job 33:15). In addition,Prophet  Isaiah in the old testament uses the same phrase: “it will be like a dream, a vision of the night” (Isa. 29:7). The Bible states  “the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night vision,” and later, “I kept looking in the night visions…” (Dan. 2:19; 7:13). The above passages explain that dreams are basically visions we have at night.

Hence each of us should take each of our   dreams seriously. We will labour in this blog to show you that most of your dreams are valid divine and spiritual communication from unseen realms.
During sleep when our cognitive minds are not active, an opportunity presents itself in our restful state  to experience spiritual communication  through our dreams. Dreams are not just an insignificant occurrence human beings have. The Scriptures reveal that they are a ‘window’ where we can have a ‘peep’ to what is going on in a realm beyond us.Dr. Charity Kayembe in her book ‘Hearing God through your dreams’ states” God speaks to us through our dreams, engaging us in the supernatural realm. If we consider visions as real life, then dreams are equally real.”

John 17:3
[3]And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
“The above scriptures tells us that life is about knowing God and Jesus, whom He sent. With this definition of real life, we can confidently say that hearing from God and connecting with His Spirit through dreams qualifies as real life.” Dr Charity Kayembe explains.Psalm 139 beautifully illustrates this connection with God through our dreams:

“How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!” (Psalm 139:17-18 NLT).

When we sleep at night, we hook up with God’s thoughts—those He is those he is thinking about us now. We are inspired  to understand our dreams because we want to know divine thoughts about us. We want to hear what God has to say about us, about life, and about His world. We seek to listen to His ideas, feel His heart, and understand His point of view.

Our need to know God and the nature of the divine realm drives us to listen to our dreams, in the process  we strengthen our relationship with God. Comprehending the voice of God at night is paramount to understanding the spiritual realm.Dr Charity Kayembe rightly states “Just as being fluent in a language enhances our ability to communicate effectively and build closer relationships, learning God’s heart language of dreams demonstrates our commitment and desire for deeper intimacy with Him.”

Developing the ability to interpret dreams enables you to live a rich spiritual life that is naturally Supernatural.  It empowers you to grasp the divine messages communicated through dreams and visions. This knowledge enables you to have a closer walk with God having clearer communication with the divine building stronger relationship.

Hence let us begin on this journey of understanding the language and symbols of our dreams.
Let us actively seek  to understand our dreams and apply the wisdom we receive in our lives. In doing so, we open ourselves to a richer, more profound relationship with our Creator, who speaks to us both day and night.

This blog will strive to assist you with understanding Biblical Dream interpretation and other Prophetic gifting.

Inner Healing Series 008 :- Understanding and Dealing With UNGODLY SOUL TIES

INNER HEALING SERIES 008 UNGODLY SOUL TIES
STEM FROM UNHEALTHY COVENANT OR CONTRACTUAL RELATIONSHIPS AND TRANSFER ENERGIES FROM ONE TO THE OTHER.
DEFINITION OF SOUL TIE:
When you enter into a covenant with another person or with God, a soul tie develops which allows the life, energies and provisions of the two to be shared. The following would be considered soul ties: “a close or committed relationship,” or “a soul mate,” or “a bosom buddy.”
Biblical examples of soul ties:

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul (I Sam. 18:1).
On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram… (Gen. 15:18).
Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith He, shall be one flesh (I Cor. 6:16).
Other examples of covenant relationships include:
husband and wife;
parent and child;
pastor and parishioner;
teacher and student;
employer and employee;
and a Christian to all others in the body of Christ,
by virtue of the fact that we have all been baptized into Christ’s body (I Cor. 12:13) and are joined to His Spirit (I Cor. 6:17). Blood pacts create soul ties which may be either godly or ungodly.
Any of the above soul ties can become ungodly and release sin energies.
Ungodly soul ties exist when one partner seeks to dominate, manipulate, or control another.
If violence, fear, or abuse becomes part of the soul tie, it is ungodly.

PERSONAL APPLICATION . Lord, with whom do I have ungodly soul ties (close relationships) that are contributing to the heart issue of ________? (Examine parents, authority figures, teachers, pastors, close friends and spouse.)

B. SEVER UNGODLY SOUL TIES

  1. I confess and repent of my sin of an ungodly soul tie with _, and of any anger and resentment against You, God, for allowing this to happen in my life.
  2. I forgive _ for their involvement in this sin. I ask You, God, to forgive me, and I receive Your forgiveness. I forgive myself for participating in this sin.
  3. Lord, sever the ungodly soul tie between me and __ and restore the broken or torn portions of my soul. Lord, remove anything that has come into me through this soul tie and, Lord, bring back anything godly that has bee

LESSON TWO BIBLICAL PRINCIPALS OF DREAM INTERPRETATIONFive Things You Can Do to Help Recall Your Dreams

  1. Say to yourself, “I believe dreams contain a valid message.”
This is a signal to your heart that you are taking it seriously and want to hear what it has to tell you. You are giving it permission, and even asking it to awaken you after each dream. Your heart will do exactly that. You see, if you do not awaken within five minutes of the dream ending, you will not recall it
  2. Ask God to speak to you through dreams as you fall asleep.
God does answer prayers, especially when prayed in accordance to His will!
  3. Put your journal beside your bed and immediately record your dreams upon awakening.
You will forget most of your dreams by the morning, so get up and write them down when you awaken.
  4. Get eight hours of sleep, as the entire last hour will be dream-time.
  5. Awaken naturally, without the use of an alarm clock, as alarms shatter dream recall and blast tidbits of dreams into oblivion where they are never found.
If you will do the above five things, you will recall dreams every week.
Seven Foundational Principles for Interpreting Dreams
  6. Most dreams are symbolic (including biblical dreams), so view them the same way you would view a political cartoon. Throw the switch in your brain that says, “Look at this symbolically.”
  7. The symbols will come from the dreamer’s life, so ask, “What does this symbol mean to me?” or, if working on another’s dream, ask, “What does this symbol mean to you?”
For example, Joseph was a shepherd, and he dreamed of sheaves and sun, moon and stars bowing down (Gen. 37:1-11). These images surround a shepherd boy who lives in the fields. Nebuchadnezzar, a king, dreamed of statues of gold (Dan 2:31ff), which surround kings who live in palaces.
  8. The dream generally speaks of the concerns which your heart is currently facing. So ask, “What issues was I processing the day before I had the dream?”
For example, Paul was wondering where to go next on his missionary journey and had a dream of a Macedonian man motioning for him to come on over (Acts 16:6-11). Nebuchadnezzar was thinking his kingdom would go on forever (Dan. 4:28-33) and he had a dream of a tree being chopped off at the roots (Dan. 4:9-27). Once you know the thoughts that were on the dreamer’s heart when he fell asleep, it is much easier to draw out the meaning of the dream.
  9. The meaning of the dream must be drawn from the dreamer. Realize you know nothing about the dream, but through dependence upon the Holy Spirit and the skillful use of questions, you can draw the meaning of the dream out from the heart of the dreamer.
As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams (Dan. 1:17).
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out (Prov. 20:5).
  10. The dreamer’s heart will leap and “witness” and say, “Aha!” when it hears the right interpretation, so never accept an interpretation that does not bear witness in the dreamer’s heart.
  11. Dreams reveal but do not condemn. Their goal is to preserve life, not to destroy it (Job 33:1318).
  12. Never make a major decision in your life based only on a dream without receiving additional confirmation from the other ways that God speaks to us and guides us (peace in our hearts, the counsel of others, illumined Scriptures, God’s still small voice, prophecy, anointed reasoning, etc.).

FOCUS ON YOUR VISION

Ge 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.
6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
7 for, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves came round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.
8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.
9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it to his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed yet a dream: and, behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars made obeisance to me.
10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren; and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
11 And his brethren envied him; but his father kept the saying in mind.

Your Dream is the Most precious thing that you have
Focus on it Like Joseph did , inspite of the challenges and the Lord will show himself strong.
FACTS ABOUT A FOCUSSED VISION
FOCUS DOES NOT COME NATURALLY TO MOST PEOPLE – THEY ARE TO MANY CHOICES AND OPPORTUNITIES
FOCUSSED VISION INCREASES YOUR ENERGY – WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR TARGET YOU WILL BE ENERGIESD ; IF YOU LACK FOCUSSED VISION YOU WILL BE ALL OVER THE PLACE ; ATTEMPTING TO DO EVERYTHING, WHICH IS LIKE ATTEMPTING TO DO NOTHING
FOCUSSED VISION ENERGY LIFTS YOU – IN A WORLD OF MEDIOCRICITY – JUST KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT TO DO , THEN MAKING AN EFFORT TO DO IT, DISTINGUISHES YOU , SEPARATES YOU FROM THE CROWD.
FOCUSSED VISION EXPANDS YOUR LIFE ; IT CHALLENGES YOU TO CHANGE ; MIKE KENDRICK SAYS WHAT YOU FOCUS ON EXPANDS
FOCUSSED VISION MUST BE INTENTIONALLY SUSTAINED ; OUR ATTENTION SPANS ARE LIMITED ; WHAT SEPARATES THE CHAMPIONS FROM THE ORDINARY PEOPLE IS CONCENTRATION ; DEFINATION OF SUCCESS :- SUCCESS IS THE PROGESSIVE REALIZATION OF A PREDETERMINED WORTHWHILE GOAL ; SUCCESS IS NOT AN EVENT ; IT IS A PROCESS – PROCESS TAKES TIME , FOCUS IS REQUIRED.
HOW TO HAVE A FOCUSSED VISION
BE INTENTIONAL – MAKE EVERY ACTION COUNT
CHALLENGE YOUR EXCUSES
DO NOT LET YESTERDAY HIJACK YOUR ATTENTION
FOCUS ON THE PRESENT
STAY FOCUSSED ON RESULTS – DO NOT FOCUS ON THE DIFFICULTY OF THE WORK – IF YOU DWELL ON DIFFICULTY TOO LONG YOU WILL DEVELOP SELF- PITY INSTEAD OF SELF- DISCIPLINE ; YOUR ATTENTION WILL BECOME SCATTERED INSTEAD OF FOCUSSED ; WHEN YOU FOCUS ON RESULTS YOU WILL STAY POSITIVE AND ENCOURAGED. ; AVOID DIFFICULT PEOPLE THEY WILL DISCOURAGE YOU.
-TYPES OF PEOPLE
A) REFRESHERS – THEY INSPIRE YOUR DREAMS AND ENERGIZE YOUR TALENTS
B) REFINERS – THEY SHARPEN YOUR IDEAS AND CLARIFY YOUR VISION
C) REFLECTORS – THEY MIRROR YOUR ENERGY , NEITHER ADDING NOR SUBTRACTING FROM IT
D) REDUCERS – THEY TRY TO REDUCE YOUR VISION AND EFFORTS TO THEIR LEVEL
DEVELOP AND FOLLOW YOUR PRIORITIES – ‘ IF YOU CHASE TWO RABBITS , BOTH WILL ESCAPE , THE STORY OF THE GREEDY HYENA
FOCUS ON YOUR STRENGTHS , NOT YOUR WEAKNESSES
DELAY REWARDS UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE

ARE YOU READY?

ARE YOU READY?

The bible teaches that God has great plans for those who love him and are called by his name.
The question is, are we READY for what God has in store for us?
David prepared for greatness before it became a reality for him.
He kept his father’s sheep , before he became a shepherd and a king of Israel
He faced lions and bears and protected his fathers few sheep before he could protect the entire nation from goliath and enemy armies.

Avoid sex before marriage it destroys trust in the marriage later
Do not assume that the person you intend to marry will be good, because the parents are good. Ask yourself are they truly commited to God?
Do not marry just because your parents say so. Is the person you intend to marry your friend.
Do not marry early and then regret later, because you feel you have missed out on somethings.
Do not expect your beloved friend to change after the marriage. Do not deceive yourself that you will be able to change the negative aspects you do not like about them. No my friend you cannot change another human being.
Consider your financial positions. Love alone won’t pay the bills.
Consider the racial , tribal differences and prepare well to face any challenges
Consider the educational differences and decide appropriately.
